Windmobile: Where Energy Meets Education

Since its inception in 2005, Windmobile has evolved from a classroom idea into a nationwide educational movement. What began with a small mobile wind turbine built by students became a dynamic platform for hands-on science and sustainability education. Between 2008 and 2022, Windmobile reached schools across Luxembourg, from Heiderscheid to Diekirch, sparking curiosity and climate consciousness in hundreds of young minds.

Along the way, students constructed their own wind turbines, participated in the contest in Zagreb and visited Portugal, while teachers participated in international conferences from Athens to Argentina, and helped shape a new direction in the national curriculum with the Environmental Science program launched in 2018. Celebrated with multiple Prix Nova Naturstroum awards and the FNR Award, Windmobile exemplifies how education can generate real energy — both literal and inspirational.
