The control unit was developed as a project assignment by a Year 6 technician class as part of its \u201c\u00c9nergie et Environnement (ENVIE)\u201d syllabus.<\/p>\n<p>Over the years the experiment has evolved into pupils or children being tasked with finding out which wind turbine is the best by performing two small tests.<br \/>\n<a href=\"..\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/995043_375318785902892_158045117_n.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-498\" src=\"..\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/12\/995043_375318785902892_158045117_n-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"995043_375318785902892_158045117_n\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The first part of the test involves determining the start-up speed of the individual wind turbines, while the second part electrically charges the wind turbines at a designated wind speed. Drawing on the results of the two test parts, the children or pupils must then determine which of the miniature wind turbines performs the best.<\/p>\n<p>The findings are then compared with real wind turbines and expanded upon by the experiment leader.<\/p>\n<p>The wind tunnel project has been a permanent fixture of the <em>Windmobile@school<\/em> activity since 2007.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Wind tunnel Wind tunnel project Since 2007, miniature models of real wind turbines have been built in a bid to help pupils from the Lyc\u00e9e Technique d\u2018Ettelbruck better visualise wind energy.
